In looking at the current and future needs of MCSC, there arise some general categories of support and volunteerism wherein our Friends may wish to serve and assist.
A more detailed list of specific needs and associated tasks will be developed and presented here to allow our supporters to target which area they might want to assist us.
We maintain some limited professional service support. Their reliability is needed in critical areas, such as snow clearance, heating and electrical services, and timely maintenance of facilities and systems. However, there could be a limited amount of overlap between their support and that provided by the Friends, depending on the nature of the tasks and the potential for liability in the event of mishaps.
We are currently seeking:
- A Volunteer Coordinator
- A back-up webmaster (training is available, but must have WordPress experience)
- Desktop publishing: posters, flyers, slide shows, etc.
- Newsletter - editor, contributor, photographer
- Light house-keeping support
- Fill-in landscaping and light-duty grounds-keeping
- Library work: initial purging, organization and future growth
- Fundraising support
- Soliciting and arranging for donations-in-kind
- Accounting and record keeping
- Bookstore and gift shop set-up and operation
- Preparation for and support on retreat days, such as:
- Food collection, preparation, setup, serving and clean-up
- Hospitality: parking, greeting, organizing guests, hosting guest speakers, etc.
- Communications: Emcee for announcements and introductions of talks
- Preparation of handouts
- Photographer
- Etc.
